The Swedish superstar has been linked with a big-money move to the Premier League, with Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and even West Ham all understood to be interested.
But Silva believes the 34-year-old would be better off staying put, saying a move to England would be a step down for his mate.
“He is my good friend, but also at 34 he is playing the best football of his career," said Silva.
"He is one of the best in the world, he is unique, there is not another player like him.
